Fall Colors

I've listed some pieces that are perfect for fall in my etsy shop. Check out the earrings above! The Autumn Harvest Earrings have all the rich colors of fall and a vintage feel. The Mustard Bloom Swingers in the second pic have a gorgeous shade of mustard, perfect for one's Autumn wardrobe. I love wearing copper, partly because you can wear it with either gold or silver without any clash.

Trip to Istanbul

I've started packing (well, barely...) for my usual summer trip to Istanbul. I always struggle with: 1. jewelry making supplies , 2. costumes; I never know which ones I should take with me. It's a problem maybe because of the weight limit they have. Jewelry making supplies and tools don't necessarily take up much room but are so heavy. And belly dance costumes, especially the beaded and fringy ones, take up space and weigh a lot. I will have trouble deciding... One of my fave costumes needs to be fixed because it was accidentally torn by one of the guests at a wedding where I was performing - so I guess I should take it with me just to have it fixed.

Tomorrow I'll be celebrating my birthday at Taverna Plaka at 11 PM (my b-day is actually on June 28 which is sunday)! I hope friends and students can make it!

the JAILER’S SEDUCTION Choker

I just listed the JAILER’S SEDUCTION Choker in my etsy shop.

This is a striking, yet easy to wear piece. The various keys drape around your neck, conforming to your natural lines, and coming down in a flattering V shape.

The chain is long enough for genuine adjustability. You can wear it with a more relaxed fit or in true choker style. When you wear it tight the remaining chain hangs gracefully down your back. The end of the chain has a little key hanging off of it.

I love the various lines the keys create together.

Clockwork Orange Bracelet

The picture above is the CLOCKWORK ORANGE BRACELET with leadfree tibetan silver, orange jablonex glass beads and convenient clasp.

The vivid,intense shade of color is mainly what reminded me of Stanley Kubrick's classic. The warm orange jablonex beads are complemented by unique tibetan silver beads that have a sort of abstract clockwork look about them.

When I was growing up in Turkey, there were fewer TV channels so we read more. I personally read way too many Conan the Barbarian comic books. I guess that's why I fantasized (and still do)about being a barbarian.

These striking dangle earrings come from such fantasy. I think there's something ultra feminine about taking weapons associated with "manliness" and using them as adornment. Although I've never needed to use battle axes, I can come up with many reasons to wear them...
